Established Asian actors such as Leung Tony Ka-Fai, Aaron Kwok and Kase Ryo will grace the 2012 Busan International Film Festival as guests; in addition, we have now confirmed five additional renowned actresses who will represent Europe, the US, and Australia.
A French actress, screenwriter and director Agnès Jaoui now visits Busan for the international premiere of The Dandelions (2012). Berlin’s Shooting Stars award winning actor, Alba Rohrwacher will visit with her two films, The Commander and the Stork (2012) and Dormant Beauty (2012). Victoria Abril of Atame (1990) – the film that gave her international exposure – is now eager to meet and greet with the citizens of Busan and will present The Woman Who Brushed (2012). The Busan International Film Festival is also delighted to welcome Amanda Plummer and Teresa Palmer from Hollywood. Amanda Plummer and Teresa Palmer will adorn Busan with their films Abigail Harm (2012) and Wish You Were Here (2011) respectively.

One of Europe’s most popular and respected actresses, Victoria Abril has made her mark in more than 60 films produced in France, Italy, and her native Spain. First introduced to American audiences through the work of Spanish director Pedro Almodóvar, who directed her in the controversial Atame (1990), the sensual, brown-eyed actress has gained a stateside cult following.

Agnès Jaoui is an actress, screenwriter and director. Le Gout Des Autres (1999), which Jaoui acted in, directed and wrote the script for, was a major hit in France as well as throughout Europe. Look At Me (2004) and Let It Rain (2008) were both released in Korea and garnered a huge fan base for Jaoui. This year, Jaoui visits the Busan International Film Festival for the international premiere of The Dandelions (2012), directed by Carine Tardieu.

Wish You Were Here l Special Screening
Hailing from Australia, model and actress Teresa Palmer is best known for her role in the Sci-Fi hit, I Am Number Four (2011). Her debut feature film is 2:37 (2006), which competed in the Un Certain Regard section of the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. Her filmography includes The Grudge 2 (2006), December Boys (2007), and Take Me Home Tonight (2011). Teresa plays Steph McKinney in Wish You Were Here (2011), which has been selected for a special screening at the 2012 Busan International Film Festival. Teresa is also the face of this year’s Premium Sponsor for the festival, Artistry.

Abigail Harm l World Cinema
Amanda Plummer has won numerous accolades in her 30-year multifaceted artistic career, including an Emmy for her performance as a supporting actress in a drama series. Some of Plummer’s notable works include The Fisher King (1991) and Pulp Fiction (1994); her upcoming films include The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013).

Alba Rohrwacher studied acting at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. In 2008, she was awarded the David di Donatello for Best Supporting Actress. At the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival, she was awarded the Shooting Stars Award.
